The novelist Hako lived with her husband while caring for her father-in-law. Her father-in-law's joy was that Hako would read her own novels to him, but as he grew bored with the content, he secretly rewrote the continuation of the novel into erotica. For her father-in-law's plea, "Don't take away the joy of an old man," Hako, though bewildered, gradually began to utter vulgar words.
